Short Bio
Mohamed Kari conducts postdoctoral research at the intersection of computer vision and technical human-computer interaction in Parastoo Abtahi's group at Princeton CS. His research aims at getting closer to intelligent sensor-rich computer systems that seamlessly blend with a user's space and mind.
He obtained his PhD in Computer Science as well as M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Information Systems from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany where he was advised by Prof. Dr. Reinhard Schütte. During his PhD, Mo has conducted research on neural rendering and 3D diffusion at Apple in Dr. Brian Amberg's organization (Zurich, Switzerland) and on situated mixed reality experiences in Dr. Hrvoje Benko's organization at Meta Reality Labs Research (Redmond, Washington). He also was a visiting PhD Student with Prof. Dr. Christian Holz at ETH Zürich. For multiple years, he conducted research with Dr. Tobias Grosse-Puppendahl at Porsche (Stuttgart, Germany), also co-founding the Emerging Tech Research group.
He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship for studies in the US during his Master's and interned in business-oriented roles at Accenture Strategy and Porsche. At Porsche, he co-headed the Porsche PhD Network, and with Fulbright, he initiated and produces the Fulbright PULSE interview podcast.
