Prof. Ed Felten nominated for Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board

Ed FeltenOn March 13th, the White House announced that the President will be nominating CS Professor Edward Felten for a position on the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB).  He is being nominated for a Democratic seat and will serve part-time. 

PCLOB is an independent, bipartisan agency.   The five-person board, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, is charged with ensuring that the federal government’s efforts to thwart terrorism are in line with protecting privacy and civil liberties.
