Lester Mackey and Tamara Broderick win Goldwater Scholarships
Lester Mackey, a junior computer science major from Long Island, New York, receives a 2006 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. This prestigious fellowship is awarded to sophomores and juniors on the basis of excellence in math, science and engineering. He is currently doing research on analyzing fault tolerance properties of programs with David Walker.
Tamara Broderick, a junior from Cleveland, Ohio, also wins a 2006 Goldwater Scholarship. For her JP, she she is working on a machine-learning project with Robert Schapire to track animals in Panama.
